A lost passport creates immediate pressure. A lost citizenship certificate creates a second problem: evidence. Replace citizenship by investment passport procedures differ by issuing country, but the first steps are usually practical—secure the person, report the loss, and contact the correct official channel.
Do not assume that a passport agent, airline, or local police station can complete the replacement. The issuing state may require a police report, identity verification, photographs, citizenship evidence, an affidavit, or an interview. A replacement passport can also carry a different number, which means banks, visas, airlines, and residence records may need updates.
Keep a recovery pack before anything is lost

Report a stolen passport promptly. The authority may invalidate the document to reduce misuse. Do not continue travelling on a photocopy or an old number if the official channel has marked the passport lost. Ask the embassy or passport authority what document can be used for urgent travel.
A passport is a travel document. Its loss does not automatically prove that citizenship has ended, but the issuing country’s law and records control the answer. Keep a dated record of every report, reference number, and replacement request.
